The Tales of Tarya by Rachel Nightingale

This is my first ever requested review and I have Odessey Books to thank! They have kindly sent over a fantasy novel called The Tales of Tarya which is a trilogy contain Harlequin's Riddle, Columbine's Tale and Pierrot's Song. I've never been a huge fantasy fan but I can say that I've really enjoyed reading all three!

So here is a brief summary of The Tales of Tarya:

When Mina joins a troupe of travelling actors, her aim is to find her missing brother, but her search unlocks a series of secrets that will change the world she knows forever. Tarya, the mystical realm spoken of in tales, is real, and her gift for storytelling opens a way to it. But Tarya has a shadow side, and someone in the troupe of actors is using it to harm people. Mina soon realises she may be the only one with the power to stop them. The Tales of Tarya is a young adult fantasy trilogy about the gift of creativity and where it can take you.

Now I will admit that going into Harlequin's Riddle, I wasn't too sure that I'd be able to get myself stuck in the book. Oh, I was wrong. Within the first page, I was in a completely different world. Straight away I lost track of time and I ended up going to bed very late, basically the sun was up by the time l realised that I should go to sleep.

All three books are just so creative. The way Mina (the main character) can just tell a story and show Tarya, reading that made me feel like I could see it too if that makes sense?

And while you're starstruck with the Power of Storytelling that Mina has. You're also alongside her trying to work out how and why her brother disappeared when he went to join the Players when Mina was seven. I don't want to give too much away because I'd rather you read it without any prior knowledge like me and just enter Tarya and experience the situations that Mina goes through in a quest to find her brother and also fight for the good.

I highly recommend The Tales of Tarya. Travel with Mina on the battle of Good vs Evil. Experience love and betrayal, friendship and transformation. You will not be disappointed.
