Reviewing the good, the bad, the ugly & the controversial
ABOUT ME
The Story
As a child, reading just simply did not appeal to me. Truth be known, I could not stand it and found it to be horrendously boring. I would rather sit at the kitchen table with colouring pencils and paper and just draw!
Then one night during the summer holidays, aged around 9 years old, I noticed my mum in our back garden sitting under the garden lighting, reading what was most likely a Karen Rose novel. I wanted to join her but the only way I would be allowed to be in her private space was to read a book with her. So, I did, every night for the rest of the summer holiday.
Returning to school after the summer break, I was spending more and more time in the Library and started buying more books. I ended up making a library of my own at home.
So fast forward to 2020. The year we all wish we could forget…
The only way I could keep my sanity in check was to read. Constantly reading and constantly buying books. However, I found myself stuck on one genre and I started to find it a little repetitive, so I referred to my book bucket list poster and picked a random book from a random genre and started feeling excited about reading again.
By the second lockdown I realised that whenever I expressed my views about a book I had read, I would get excited about what I had read and found myself talking about each read in detail with my family and friends. At one point I got sick and tired of listening to my own voice! One day my stepfather said to me “Why don’t you write reviews of the books you’ve read. Your experience would be useful for those looking for a great read, along with assisting unpublished authors get some feedback before publication”. That idea kept flashing in my head and here we are.
As well as reviewing the books I currently have and books I am yet to buy, I would also like review and assist authors who have yet to be published or even those who have been published but would just like to get their book beyond online storefronts.
It could be anything from Novels to Short Stories. From Poems to Young Adult Fiction. Fiction to Non-Fiction, I would love to read and review them all.
If there are any budding authors out there that would like me to cast an eye over your latest masterpiece before publication, then feel free to reach out and touch base with me to discuss how I can assist you.
